is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, preventive maintenance, and timely repair of all electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and civil systems in the hotel. The role demands hands-on technical expertise, quick troubleshooting ability, and team leadership to keep all guest areas and back-of-house systems in optimal working condition.
Supervise and execute daily maintenance activities across guest rooms, public areas, kitchen, and back-office.
Perform routine inspections of
electrical panels, HVAC systems, water pumps, STP/RO plants, DG set, and elevators
.
Respond promptly to maintenance calls from departments and ensure quick rectification.
Maintain a
maintenance logbook
for all reported issues and completed work.
Oversee minor civil repairs such as carpentry, painting, plumbing leaks, and fittings.
2. Preventive Maintenance
Implement a
Preventive Maintenance Schedule (PMS)
for all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Coordinate planned servicing of
generator, air conditioning units, lifts, water filtration, and kitchen equipment
.
Ensure routine cleaning and inspection of
water tanks, filters, and iron removal units
.
Record service reports and maintain documentation for internal audits and government inspections.
3. Vendor & Contractor Coordination
Liaise with external service providers for annual maintenance contracts (AMCs).
Supervise contractor work for safety compliance and quality standards.
Verify vendor bills against job completion reports before forwarding to Accounts.
4. Energy & Safety Management
Monitor and optimize energy consumption -- electricity, diesel, and water usage.
Conduct safety checks for
fire alarms, emergency lighting, and extinguishers
.
Train staff on safe use of equipment, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and emergency response.
Report major hazards or accidents to the General Manager immediately.
5. Inventory & Cost Control
Maintain inventory of tools, spares, electrical fittings, and plumbing materials.
Raise purchase indents in coordination with the Store and Accounts departments.
Track consumption and prevent wastage of repair materials and consumables.
6. Team Supervision & Training
Lead and train a small maintenance team (2-3 technicians/assistants).
Allocate daily tasks and monitor output for timely completion.
Conduct monthly tool checks and ensure proper usage and upkeep.
Build a culture of accountability, punctuality, and preventive care.
