To supervise and coordinate all maintenance activities in the paint shop during the assigned shift, ensuring equipment reliability, timely resolution of breakdowns, and adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise technicians and electricians deployed across PT/ED, Primer, Topcoat, Oven, and Utilities.
Ensure efficient manpower allocation based on line requirements.
Conduct shift briefings, assign tasks, and monitor progress.
Provide clear communication during shift handover.
Attend to and resolve equipment breakdowns quickly to minimize downtime.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues in: ,Circulation pumps and filtration systems, Spray booths and robots (FANUC/Yaskwa etc.), Oven fans, burners, and conveyor systems,Sludge pumps, dosing systems, and utilities.
Escalate major issues to the Shift Incharge or Engineering team when required.
Carry out preventive maintenance (PM) activities as per daily/weekly schedules.
Follow and ensure adherence to PM checklists and SOPs.
Identify and report abnormalities observed during PM.
Monitor and support equipment health in areas such as: Pretreatment & Electro-Deposition (PT/ED) tanks, Paint supply and circulation units Sludge removal systems,Air handling units (AHU), VOC treatment, chillers, and compressed air systems,Curing ovens and wet/dry booths
Implement LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures for equipment isolation.
Maintain 5S standards in maintenance areas and on the shop floor.
Support implementation of TPM activities such as Autonomous Maintenance (JH), Kaizen, and Pokayoke.
Record all breakdowns, PM tasks, and parts used in the logbook or CMMS.
Provide daily shift reports to the Shift Incharge/Maintenance Manager.
Ensure proper use and return of tools and spares.
Competencies / Skills:
Functional/Technical:
Basic troubleshooting of paint robots, PLCs, and instrumentation systems.
Understanding of paint shop processes: PT/ED, Primer, Topcoat, Booth, Oven, and Sludge.
Knowledge of maintenance systems like SAP PM, Infor, etc.
Safety awareness in chemical and high-temperature environments.
Team supervision, communication, and shift management skills.
Strong knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, Mitsubishi PLCs, Servo drives,VFD Friction drives system, Conveyors
Familiarity with Digitalization, Predictive Maintenance techniques, 5S, and Lean Maintenance
Experience with robots (FANUC, Yaskawa, etc.) and vision systems is a plus
