Job Description

Job Role:



To ensure high availability and reliable operation of all molding and painting shop equipment during the shift through proactive preventive maintenance, swift breakdown handling, and coordination with production, quality, and utility teams.



Job Responsibilities:



Lead the shift team for real-time troubleshooting of: Injection Molding Machines, Painting Robots (Yaskawa, etc.), Paint Shop Ovens (IR/Hot Air Type), PMR (Plastic Moulded Rotator systems), Chillers & Cooling Systems, Conveyors and Lifts, EOT Cranes Analyze root causes of frequent stoppages and implement temporary/permanent solutions. Execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities as per the monthly/weekly schedule. Monitor and record parameters like oil levels, cooling efficiency, robotic motion, and oven temperatures. Support Predictive Maintenance like thermal imaging (for heaters/robots), vibration analysis (for motors/blowers), and current monitoring. Manage maintenance technicians and contract staff on shift. Ensure proper task allocation, safety compliance, and adherence to work standards. Conduct shift handover meetings and emergency response coordination. Ensure LOTO procedure, permit-to-work systems, and PPE compliance during maintenance. Monitor pressurized system safety (air/oil), chiller coolant circuits, and crane slings/hooks. Report and close near-miss observations and participate in HIRA assessments. Maintain equipment history, PM records, breakdown logs, and spare consumption logs. Update CMMS/ERP system regularly. Track critical spare parts like sensors, robot cables, molding heaters, chillers compressors, etc. Ensure the availability of tools and fast-moving items for shift activities. Work closely with Production, Quality, and Utilities teams for shift-related planning and problem-solving. Support engineering changes, trials, and new equipment installations.

Competencies / Skills:



Functional/Technical:



Understanding of injection molding machine hydraulics, heaters, temperature controllers, ejectors Exposure to painting robots - motion check, axis calibration, teaching (Yaskawa, or similar) Familiarity with oven systems, blower performance, burner operation Chiller system working - compressor health, coolant cycle, descaling schedule Basic PLC/HMI troubleshooting and sensor logic (especially for conveyor lines) EOT crane safety, limit switch, and gear motor troubleshootingo Team handling and shift coordination Safety-first mindset and technical discipline * Basic documentation, root cause analysis, and communication
