Qualification

:

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or

ITI (Electrician / Fitter / Mechanical Maintenance)

Experience:

2 to 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance operations (preferably in manufacturing / process / engineering industries).

Salary Range:

?20,000 - ?25,000 per month (based on experience and skill level)

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Assistant Engineer will be responsible for executing preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities for plant machinery and utilities. The role involves ensuring minimum downtime, efficient machine performance, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and utility equipment.

- Diagnose and troubleshoot machine breakdowns to ensure smooth plant operations.

- Assist in installation, commissioning, and modification of equipment and machinery.

- Maintain proper maintenance logs, checklists, and reports as per company standards.

- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and environmental regulations.

- Coordinate with production and quality teams to minimize downtime.

- Maintain and manage tools, spares, and consumables inventory.

- Support energy conservation and continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.

- Attend emergency maintenance calls and resolve issues promptly.

Skills & Competencies:

- Sound knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical panels, motors, pumps, compressors, conveyors, etc.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.

- Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance systems and breakdown troubleshooting.

- Good communication and team coordination skills.

- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and reporting.

- Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

- Basic Plumbing Knowledge (Pipe fittings, tap repairs etc...) is an added advantage

Working Conditions:

Rotational or general shift as per requirement

Overtime or weekend work during critical breakdowns
