Job Description

The Maintenance Fitter is responsible for fitting, assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical components and machinery according to specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints Measure, mark, and cut metal parts using hand and power tools Assemble, fit, and align mechanical parts and assemblies Perform drilling, tapping, grinding, filing, and machining work Install and maintain machines, tools, and equipment Identify faults and carry out repairs and replacements Ensure proper lubrication and adjustment of machinery Follow workplace safety rules and procedures Maintain tools, equipment, and work area Assist in preventive and breakdown maintenance

Skills & Competencies

Good knowledge of fitting tools and measuring instruments Ability to use vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc. Basic welding and fabrication knowledge (preferred) Mechanical troubleshooting skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and in a team

Qualifications

ITI (Fitter) / Diploma in Mech. Engg. 1-5 years of experience in industrial/mechanical fitting (preferred)
