To perform preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, and installation of mechanical equipment and machinery to ensure optimal plant performance and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine maintenance and inspection of machinery and mechanical systems.
Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs in a timely manner.
Install, align, and test new machinery and equipment.
Fabricate and fit mechanical parts using tools such as lathes, grinders, and welders.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and report major faults to supervisors.
Follow all safety procedures and ensure compliance with company standards.
Work collaboratively with electricians, engineers, and production staff to minimize disruptions.
Participate in continuous improvement and reliability programs.
Skills and Qualifications:
Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical Fitting, Maintenance, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Maintenance or Mechanical Fitter in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Awareness of workplace health and safety regulations.
