Job Summary

To lead and manage the mechanical maintenance activities of the plant, ensuring optimal equipment reliability, minimal downtime and adherence to safety and quality standards. Responsible for supervising a team of engineers and coordinating with other functions for smooth operations. This role is responsible for the upkeeping, repair and continuous improvement of Plant equipment and systems for printing, laminating and finishing process along with utility equipment such as compressors, chillers, Material handling equipment etc.



This position reports into Maintenance Manager and will be based in Chakan, Pune. Maintenance Engineers and Cell Leaders will report into this position.

What you will do

1. Maintenance Planning & Execution



Monitor equipment performance and initiate corrective actions. Develop and implement preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance schedules. Schedule and ensure timely execution of maintenance tasks, monitor maintenance activities to ensure minimal disruption to production. Maintain utility equipment (Chillers, Compressors, Support equipment), Centralized chill water management system with periodic schedules and AMC support (if required) Monitor overall health of Material handling equipment by delivering timely schedule maintenance through in-house & support team. Ensure all essential AMCs are executed with zero deviations. Maintain and update maintenance SOPs and schedules.



2. Team Management



Lead and guide mechanical maintenance team and support staff. Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. Conduct regular team meetings, skill assessments, and training sessions.



3. Equipment Reliability & Breakdown Management



Lead troubleshooting efforts during equipment breakdowns. Coordinate with production and other departments for quick resolution. Ensure high up-time of critical equipment through proactive maintenance. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major breakdowns and implement corrective actions. Maintain detailed breakdown and maintenance history records and analyze root causes.



4. Documentation & Compliance



Maintain maintenance logs, checklists, and equipment history. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. Support audits and inspections by internal and external agencies. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports. Track KPIs such as MTTR, MDT, MTBF, EE loss, Equipment availability, and maintenance cost.



5. Spare Parts & Inventory



Monitor inventory of Mechanical + critical spares and consumables. Coordinate with stores and procurement for timely availability of parts. Optimize spare usage and reduce maintenance costs.



6. Continuous Improvement



Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements. Implement Kaizen and other improvement initiatives. Should have good knowledge of TPM system & world class practices. Knowledge of RCM, PMO and other methodologies will have added advantage. Identify cost-reduction projects & support energy-saving and sustainability initiatives. Benchmark best practices and adopt new technologies.

We believe you have

B.E. in Mechanical Engineering. 10+ years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance with at least 5 years in leading maintenance team. Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating equipment, and utility systems. Leadership and team management skills. Hands on experiencing with SAP PM module (added advantage with S/4 HANA). Good communication and problem-solving abilities. Should be able to interact with global stakeholders for benchmarking and enhancement.
