The role focuses on minimizing downtime, optimizing machine performance, and supporting continuous production in alignment with safety and quality standards.

Diagnose and repair
mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic
faults in machines and utilities.
Perform maintenance and minor repairs on
molds, dies, and auxiliary equipment
(chillers, compressors, dryers, loaders, cooling towers, etc.).
Monitor machine performance and suggest improvement actions to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely and efficiently to minimize production disruption.
2. Preventive Maintenance Planning
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all production and utility equipment.
Maintain and update maintenance records, checklists, and logbooks.
Coordinate with the production department to plan maintenance activities during non-peak hours or shutdowns.
3. Inventory & Spare Parts Management
Maintain inventory of critical spare parts, tools, and consumables.
Coordinate with the purchase department for procurement of spares and maintenance materials.
Monitor usage and control maintenance costs effectively.
4. Safety, Quality & Compliance
Ensure adherence to
plant safety, quality, and environmental standards
during all maintenance operations.
Participate in
5S, TPM, and Kaizen
initiatives to improve equipment reliability and workplace efficiency.
Support internal and external
ISO / audit requirements
related to maintenance and safety.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Record all breakdowns, corrective actions, and preventive maintenance activities in maintenance logs or ERP systems.
Analyze downtime data and recommend actions to prevent recurring failures.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly maintenance reports for management review.
Qualifications & Experience:
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in
Mechanical Engineering
,
Electrical Engineering
, or
Plastic Engineering
.
3-8 years of hands-on experience in
plastic manufacturing plants
(preferably injection, blow molding, or extrusion).
Sound knowledge of
hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and PLC-based systems
.
Familiarity with
auxiliary and utility systems
(air compressors, chillers, cooling towers, etc.).
Exposure to
preventive maintenance systems
and CMMS software preferred.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
