is responsible for ensuring smooth operation, preventive maintenance, and breakdown handling of paint shop equipment and utilities. The role focuses on minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and maintaining safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and troubleshoot paint shop equipment such as:
Spray booths, ovens, conveyors, robots, pumps, and compressors
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure uninterrupted production
Handle breakdowns and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
Maintain utilities related to paint shop operations (air, water, gas, ventilation)
Ensure proper functioning of surface preparation and pre-treatment systems
Coordinate with production teams to minimize downtime
Monitor and maintain safety systems and comply with EHS standards
Maintain maintenance records, checklists, and documentation
Manage spare parts inventory and vendor coordination
Support installation, commissioning, and modification of paint shop equipment
Ensure compliance with quality standards such as ISO, TS/IATF, and internal SOPs
Technical Skills & Knowledge
Strong knowledge of paint shop processes (PT, ED, Primer, Top Coat)
Hands-on experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
Knowledge of PLC basics and automation systems
Understanding of robots and material handling systems
Experience with ovens, burners, and temperature control systems
Familiarity with safety norms related to chemicals and solvents
Qualifications
Diploma / BE / B-Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering
3-5 years of experience in paint shop maintenance (automotive/manufacturing)
