5-10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in Wire & Cable / Conductor / Metal Processing / Casting industries/Engineering & Other Similar Industries .
Hands-on knowledge of rotating equipment, furnaces, gearboxes, hydraulics & pneumatics.
Experience in implementing preventive maintenance systems, root cause analysis, and condition monitoring.
Position Overview:
The Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning, reliability, and efficiency of all mechanical systems, machines, and utilities in the plant. The role involves planning and executing preventive, predictive, and breakdown mechanical maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives for a wide range of equipment used in Copper & Aluminium Winding Wires, Conductors, Busbars, and Casting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical Maintenance Operations
Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of all production machinery and utilities.
Ensure mechanical reliability of equipment such as:
Super Enamelled Copper & Aluminium Wire and Strip Lines.
Continuous Transposed Conductor (CTC) Machines.
Paper-Covered Aluminium Conductor Machines.
Wire Drawing, Bunching, Stranding & Cabling Machines.
Copper Busbar, Foil & PV Ribbon Manufacturing Lines.
Upcaster / Electric Furnace for continuous copper rod casting.
Maintain and repair gearboxes, shafts, rollers, bearings, pumps, furnaces, hydraulics & pneumatics systems.
Support utility maintenance for cooling systems, compressors, and other mechanical equipment.
2. Troubleshooting & Repair
Diagnose mechanical failures and perform quick corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Conduct root cause analysis of repeated mechanical issues and implement permanent solutions.
Coordinate with Electrical & Electro-Mechanical teams for integrated problem-solving.
3. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
Develop and follow maintenance schedules, checklists, and lubrication plans.
Perform condition monitoring (vibration analysis, alignment, wear inspection, etc.).
Record all maintenance activities in CMMS/manual logbooks for traceability.
4. Spares & Inventory Support
Assist in identifying critical mechanical spare parts requirements.
Monitor consumption of consumables like lubricants, bearings, seals, and fasteners.
Ensure proper usage and maintenance of workshop tools and lifting equipment.
5. Safety & Compliance
Follow all mechanical safety practices, LOTO procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements under the Factory Act and Safety Regulations.
Participate in safety training, audits, and incident investigations.
6. Continuous Improvement
Support initiatives like Kaizen, TPM, 5S, and energy efficiency projects.
Suggest and implement improvements to enhance machine life, efficiency, and cost optimization.
Contribute to projects for productivity enhancement and waste reduction.
