Role Summary
The Maintenance Engineer will ensure optimal functioning of all plant machinery and systems (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.), minimize downtime, and support continuous manufacturing operations. The role involves planning, executing, and improving maintenance strategies (preventive, predictive, breakdown) to sustain high productivity and quality levels.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation faults; perform troubleshooting and corrective repairs
Coordinate with production, quality, and engineering teams to ensure maintenance does not disrupt operations
Plan and supervise maintenance shutdowns, overhauls, and modifications
Maintain spare parts inventory and ensure critical spares are available
Monitor equipment performance metrics (MTBF, MTTR, etc.) and generate maintenance reports
Analyze failure data, root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement in equipment reliability
Implement & enforce safety and ergonomic standards in all maintenance work
Train and guide technicians and maintenance staff
Work on cost control, budget for maintenance, and suggest upgrades or retrofits where needed
Ensure documentation (maintenance logs, standard operating procedures, work orders, compliance) is up to date
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics / related field (or diploma + relevant experience)
3-7 years (or as per level) of experience in a manufacturing/automotive/heat-exchanger industry in maintenance role
Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic knowledge
Experience with PLCs, automation, control systems preferred
Proficient in root-cause failure analysis, predictive maintenance techniques (vibration analysis, thermography, condition monitoring)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams
Good planning & organizing skills, ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines
Proficiency in computer / CMMS / maintenance software
Strong leadership / team-handling skills
Keen about safety, quality, and continuous improvement
