of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in Wire & Cable / Conductor / Metal Processing / Casting industries/ Engineering/ other Similar Industries
Strong hands-on knowledge of HT/LT systems, motors, drives, PLCs, furnaces, and process automation.
Experience in preventive & predictive maintenance systems and condition monitoring techniques.
Position Overview:
The Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of all electrical systems, controls, and automation across the plant. The role involves planning and executing preventive, predictive, and breakdown electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives for a wide range of production equipment and utilities used in Copper & Aluminium Winding Wires, Conductors, Busbars, and Casting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Electrical Maintenance Operations
Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of all electrical equipment and control systems.
Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems for:
Super Enamelled Copper & Aluminium Wire and Strip Lines.
CTC & Paper-Covering Machines.
Wire Drawing, Bunching, Stranding & Cabling Machines.
Copper Busbar, Foil & PV Ribbon Manufacturing Lines.
Upcaster / Electric Furnace for continuous copper rod casting.
Ensure availability and reliability of HT/LT electrical panels, transformers, drives (AC/DC/VFD), PLCs, DG sets, compressors, HVAC systems, motors, and control circuits.
2. Troubleshooting & Repair
Diagnose and rectify electrical faults, breakdowns, and automation issues.
Support root cause analysis for repeated electrical failures and recommend long-term solutions.
Work closely with Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical teams for integrated problem resolution.
3. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
Prepare and follow electrical maintenance schedules and inspection checklists.
Conduct regular testing of cables, relays, breakers, control panels, and sensors.
Carry out condition monitoring (insulation resistance, motor testing, thermography, etc.).
Maintain accurate records of all electrical maintenance activities in CMMS / manual logs.
4. Spares & Inventory Support
Assist in identifying and maintaining stock of electrical spares such as drives, PLC modules, sensors, relays, contactors, and cables.
Ensure proper calibration, care, and use of electrical test instruments and meters.
5. Safety & Compliance
Strictly follow electrical safety standards, LOTO procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
Ensure compliance with statutory regulations like the Factory Act, Electrical Safety Rules, and Fire Safety guidelines.
Report unsafe conditions and assist in corrective actions.
6. Continuous Improvement
Contribute to Kaizen, TPM, 5S, and energy conservation projects.
Propose improvements to reduce power consumption and enhance equipment reliability.
Support digitization and automation upgrades for better plant efficiency.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong troubleshooting & analytical skills in electrical and control systems.
Knowledge of PLC, automation, VFDs, and electrical testing methods.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
Team collaboration with Mechanical & Production teams.
