The Maintenance Head will be responsible for keeping all machines, equipment and utilities of the foundry in good running condition. He must ensure minimum breakdown, proper preventive maintenance, safety, and smooth daily operation of the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and oversee daily maintenance work for all foundry machines, including induction furnace, moulding line, shot blast, compressor, DG set, cranes, pumps, etc.
Make a preventive maintenance calendar and ensure all jobs are completed on time.
Monitor breakdowns, find root cause, and ensure quick repair to avoid production loss.
Maintain proper records of maintenance work, spare parts, and inventory.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Stores for any machine-related requirement.
Ensure safety practices are followed by the maintenance team, especially during furnace and heavy equipment work.
Check and verify electrical panels, wiring, motors, and ensure no unsafe connection is used.
Guide and train maintenance technicians to improve their skills.
Work with management to plan equipment upgrades or replacements when required.
Control maintenance costs and ensure proper use of spare parts and consumables.
Ensure all AMC (Annual Maintenance Contracts) and service visits are completed timely.
Required Skills & Experience
8-12 years of maintenance experience in a foundry or heavy manufacturing unit.
Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
Hands-on experience with furnace equipment, cooling towers, moulding machines, cranes, and compressors.
Ability to read basic drawings and troubleshoot machine issues.
Good leadership skills; able to manage a team of technicians.
Understanding of workplace safety and compliance.
Education
Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
