Job Description

Job Purpose

To ensure smooth and uninterrupted operation of the dairy process plant by executing preventive and breakdown maintenance of all process and utility machinery. The role involves effective manpower management, cost control, inventory support, safety compliance, and continual improvement to minimize downtime and optimize plant efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

o Ensure maintenance of all

process machines

(e.g., pasteurizers, homogenizers, separators, etc.) as per the

Annual Maintenance Schedule

.

o Ensure timely maintenance of all

utility equipment

(e.g., boilers, compressors, refrigeration units, water treatment plants, etc.).

o Log and analyze all

daily maintenance activities

, including

breakdowns and preventive actions

.

o Maintain and update

equipment history books

and

maintenance logs

.

o Plan and execute maintenance activities

cost-effectively and within set timelines

.

o Identify and implement

modifications or improvements

to reduce equipment breakdowns and maintenance costs.

o Ensure

optimum utilization of maintenance manpower

for maximum productivity.

o Assist the Engineering Head in

maintaining critical spares

and ensuring

minimum stock levels

.

o Support the EH in

procurement processes

by providing technical specifications and evaluating vendor proposals.

o Maintain

complete documentation

and

records

of all maintenance activities for

audit and compliance

purposes.

o Ensure adherence to

internal controls

,

statutory norms

, and

safety regulations

.

o Actively participate in

internal audits

and contribute to the

Quality Management System (QMS)

.

o Ensure compliance with all

safety norms and practices

during maintenance operations.

o Train and develop

subordinate staff

on technical skills, safety procedures, and standard maintenance protocols.

Key Skills and Competencies

Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in dairy processing equipment. Ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals. Proficiency in planning and executing preventive maintenance schedules. Inventory and spare part management. Working knowledge of ISO, HACCP, and safety standards in the food/dairy industry. Effective communication and leadership skills. Problem-solving and cost-reduction mindset.

Qualifications and Experience

Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering. 3-4 years of experience in maintenance roles within a

dairy ,food processing industry

or any factory

Hands-on experience with dairy processing machinery and utilities is essential.

Pay: ?30,000.00 - ?40,000.00 per month
