Roles & Responsiblities
z/OS SME Lead is a technical leadership role, uniting and guiding Kyndryl technical teams, stakeholders from clients, governance, and project executives to delivery and even the vendors who work with the client.
As a Lead SME, you'll draw upon the full breadth of your talent and experience. This is a technical leadership role aligned with Kyndryl vision, mission, and values.
As a subject matter expert to the client - consulting early, gathering inputs, understanding what they need from our solution. You define what Kyndryl can do to meet this solution. You design the best solution for the job. And finally, you're the tech leader for implementation.
Having in depth technical expertise with exposure to latest technology advancements.
Formulate the Technology roadmap and set the technical direction.
Exposure to multiple accounts with high flexibility, high availability, contributions to wider community and initiatives/global projects/RCAs/THCs/Modernization projects.
Has to mentor people, support the ongoing /upcoming training programs - Reskilling, Upskilling, Cross Skilling initiatives.
Lead and deliver new/existing deal engagements. Act as a bridge between technical and management leadership team on Solution engagements.
Offer Technical & Consulting assistance to all customers.Creating predictable outcomes by turning project execution into a controlled procedure.
Identify & utilize new technological assets and solutions to drive innovation, modernization, automation, optimization, and efficiency.
Lead and deliver impactful presentations on Kyndryl Mainframe Managed services.
Lead Cross practice Mainframe transformation and Application modernization initiatives.
Lead and drive the following activities.
Lead and extend the Support for all Geos.
Lead and Support Global engagements.
Lead Technical health Assessment.
Support Major Incidents and RCAs.
Provide technical guidance to the team during critical projects / New solutions/ changes.
Own SIPs, Automation, process, Skills, and Accountability.
Lead skill building activities - including mentoring, identifying skill areas, gaps, assessments, planning, and execution.
Liaise with System Programmers, Delivery Leaders, Client Partner Executives, SALs and Client.
Gap identification, mitigation, and ownership (Skill, Process, Account etc.)
Lead Guild and partnership programs with IBM & other Vendors.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
10+ years of relevant experience in Mainframe zOS Platform support.
License management for ISV products, Patch management for zOS
Knowledge on SMP/E.
Experience with ISV product upgrades
