We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Developer with expertise in COBOL, JCL, and DB2. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in mainframe applications and can operate in GitLab.




Key Responsibilities:




Application Development & Maintenance

Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, and DB2. Implement and optimize Java-based services that integrate with mainframe systems via CTG and Liberty Server.


Java to Mainframe Integration

Develop and support Java applications that interface with CICS regions using CTG. Ensure secure and efficient communication between distributed Java applications and mainframe services.


DB2 & MQ Knowledge

Troubleshoot MQ-related issues and ensure message
integrity and performance.

Perform performance tuning and ensure data integrity across mainframe and distributed environments.


DevOps & CI/CD

Use GitLab for source control, branching strategies, and code reviews. Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment of both Java and mainframe components.


Liberty Server Knowledge

Deploy and manage Java applications on IBM Liberty Server.


System Modernization & Integration

Participate in modernization initiatives by integrating legacy systems with cloud-native or microservices architectures. Evaluate tools and frameworks for mainframe-to-Java migration and hybrid deployments.


SSL Communication Across Tech Stacks

Implement and manage SSL/mTLS configurations for secure communication between Java, Liberty, CTG, MQ, and DB2. Handle keystore/truststore management, certificate renewals, and cross-platform encryption policies. Troubleshoot SSL handshake issues and ensure compliance with enterprise security standards.

In our agile operating model, crews are aligned to larger products and services fulfilling client needs and encompass multiple autonomous pods. You'll be working in the Wealth Management Americas Technology CTO team in Pune.

Your expertise

ideally 8-10 years of experience in a similar position focused on within the finance sector. strong expertise in mainframe applications and usage of Java on Mainframe both Batch and Online. knowledge of COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS & MQ. Good to have CTG & REXX knowledge proficiency in scripting languages such as Java. knowledge of Azure Cloud & Gitlab. excellent communication and interpersonal skills. ability to work in a collaborative and autonomous environment. strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
