The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. This is both a technical and people management leadership role and the desired candidate will be technically proficient in multiple technologies and be able to lead a high performing team. Candidates must have excellent platform instincts and communication skills coupled with a passion for business, technology while delivering a world-class customer experience. Candidates will have a demonstrated track record managing all aspects of a successful solution delivery. Candidates should have strong data-driven analytical skills and be able to operate and thrive with partial information and ambiguity and have a track record of building successful teams.


Ideal candidates will have an expansive background in application development and delivery with at least 15 years demonstrated work experience, great analytical skills, strong business judgment, superb communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to resolve conflicts and set priorities, and outstanding customer insight.

Responsibilities:

Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions) Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring end results Utilize in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards Integrate in-depth knowledge of applications development with overall technology function to achieve established goals Provide evaluative judgement based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations including drawing from internal and external sources Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards. initiatives Lead teams that gather and document technical requirements, code specifications, test plans and results, and other deliverables required for multiple projects, perform analysis, solution & design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of applications Partner for success with remote teams, with a focus on fostering positive working relationships Establish collaborative and productive relationships with diverse stakeholder teams located across time zones to arrive at best in class global solutions for the Bank Lead integration of functions to meet goals, deploy new products, and enhance processes Analyze complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards to define and develop solutions to high level problems Provide expertise in area of advanced knowledge of applications programming and plan assignments involving large budgets, cross functional project, or multiple projects Develop application methodologies and standards for program analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation Utilize advanced knowledge of supported main system flows and comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas to achieve technology goals Consult with end users to identify system function specifications and incorporate into overall system design Allocate work, and act as an advisor/coach developers, analysts, and new team members

Qualifications:

Graduate/Post Graduate degree in engineering or computer science streams Demonstrable analytical and quantitative skills 15+ years of hands-on experience in technical design and delivery of enterprise applications Demonstrable experience driving continuous quality improvements - drive continuous improvements in multiple facets for solution delivery by adopting industry best practices. Deep experience with Talent management - build, maintain, motivate and elevate large multi-culture, cross-location teams. Ability to Effectively identify, track and resolve or escalate risks before they become issues. Ability to drive collaboration with various partner systems and development/testing teams, including but not limited to front-end channels, integration systems, core banking/data warehouse apps. Candidate needs to demonstrate ability to define, evolve, mature and apply processes, methodologies, and tools in the delivery of complex cross-functional technology initiatives. Strong leadership, interpersonal, negotiation, stakeholder, project and people management skills are required as well as direct experience in managing teams in a large matrix global organization, must be able to promote teamwork within/across groups. In addition, the successful candidate should have highly effective written and oral communication skills; excellent organizational and management skills. Past roles as a technology delivery lead with demonstrable experience having led and directed delivery teams for success Past roles with Design, Development experience working with

Retail Banking applications

and/or packages an advantage Extensive experience in having led technical teams, implemented innovative solutions and been responsible for delivery of enterprise solutions in multiple technologies Experience working with enterprise transaction processing systems with focus on recovery, stability, reliability, scalability and performance Past experience leading Application modernization initiatives and/or deep experience as a Solution Architect in the banking domain Strong experience having led design, development and implementation of microservices based transformation initiatives and a strong exposure to implementing a API first application suite

Experience in using Open Source technology and tools Knowledge and understanding of Web security framework Experience working with high volume, mission critical, multithreaded applications and troubleshooting complex issues related to it Working Knowledge and Experience with multi cloud technologies, (IaaS, PaaS), use of APIs, and practical implementation of Microservices etc. Working Knowledge and Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) concepts & tools. Experience with best in class DevOps pipeline tools - Jira, Bitbucket, GitHub, Co-Pilot, APIGEE, Jenkins, RLM, Sonar, Junit, Service Now, AppDynamics, Splunk etc. Working Knowledge and Experience with modern testing methodologies (TDD, BDD) & concepts.
