Machinery maintenance Eng. (Woodworking)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Woodworking Machinery Maintenance Engineer to ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and servicing of joinery workshop machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in the preventive and corrective maintenance of a wide range of woodworking machines.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on woodworking machinery including CNC routers, edge banding machines, panel saws, spindle molders, sanding machines, and other mechanical equipment. Carry out preventive maintenance schedules (PMS) to minimize downtime and ensure optimal machine performance. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and resolve them efficiently. Maintain detailed maintenance logs, reports, and service records for all machinery. Inspect machines regularly to detect wear, misalignment, or other mechanical issues. Coordinate with suppliers or manufacturers for technical support and spare parts procurement. Ensure all machines comply with health and safety regulations and internal standards. Recommend upgrades or replacements of outdated equipment to improve productivity and safety. Support the production team by minimizing breakdown time and ensuring readiness of machines for operation. Train machine operators on basic machine handling and daily maintenance procedures.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of woodworking machinery and mechanical systems. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and machine schematics. Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic tools. Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is a plus. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Safety-conscious, with a good understanding of machine operation risks. Good communication and documentation skills.
