Job Description

Education:

B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.

Experience:

Minimum

10-15 years

of experience in production planning and control in a heavy engineering or machine-building industry. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in

rolling mill equipment

or

billet caster equipment manufacturing

.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY

1. Production Planning & Scheduling

Develop and implement detailed production plans based on project schedules, design releases, and customer delivery commitments. Prepare weekly and monthly machining schedules and monitor progress against targets. Plan machine loading and capacity utilization for CNC, VMC, HMC, turning, boring, drilling, and grinding operations. Coordinate with Design, Procurement, and Assembly departments to ensure smooth workflow.

2. Resource Management

Optimize utilization of machine tools, cutting tools, jigs & fixtures, and manpower. Plan preventive maintenance schedules in coordination with the Maintenance department to minimize downtime. Manage subcontracting of machining activities where necessary.

3. Process Control & Monitoring

Track work-in-progress (WIP) and ensure adherence to machining tolerances, quality norms, and production plans. Analyze bottlenecks and take corrective actions to improve productivity and reduce cycle time. Implement lean manufacturing and 5S practices in the machine shop.

4. Coordination & Communication

Liaise with the Project Planning Department to align production priorities with project timelines. Coordinate with Quality Control, Tool Room, and Assembly departments for smooth flow of components. Conduct daily and weekly review meetings to monitor progress and address deviations.

5. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain up-to-date records of machine loading charts, production reports, and job cards. Prepare MIS reports for management on productivity, efficiency, and machine utilization. Ensure adherence to ISO / quality management documentation requirements.

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
