Job Description

Purpose of Job:

Responsible for managing machine shop operations, production planning, manpower allocation, quality control, and ensuring timely delivery of components as per production targets with the highest safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and monitor daily machine shop activities to achieve production targets.

Manage CNC, VMC, Lathe, Drilling, Grinding & conventional machining operations.

Ensure optimum utilization of machines, manpower, tools, and consumables.

Review engineering drawings & set machining parameters for efficiency.

Coordinate with maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.

Monitor production process, quality issues, and implement corrective actions.

Minimize rejections, scrap & improve productivity through cycle time reduction.

Maintain production records, daily reports, and ERP system updates.

Manage shift operations and manpower attendance, training & skill development.

Inspect parts using measuring instruments like Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, CMM, etc.

Ensure compliance with safety, 5S, Kaizen, ISO / IATF & TPM systems.

Plan raw material, consumables, tooling & coordinate vendor support.

Conduct root cause analysis using 5Why, Fishbone, Pareto, etc., for problem solving.

Maintain shop floor discipline and a safe working environment.

Coordinate with QA, Purchase, Stores, Planning & other departments for smooth operations.
