Job Description

Job Purpose:

Responsible for managing day-to-day operations of the machine shop, ensuring productivity, quality, and timely delivery. Also responsible for developing and managing vendors for machining and fabrication components to meet production targets and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:1. Machine Shop Management

Plan, schedule, and oversee machining operations to achieve daily and monthly production targets. Supervise CNC, VMC, Lathe, Milling, and Grinding operations. Ensure machine utilization, manpower deployment, and workflow optimization. Monitor tool life, machine maintenance, and minimize downtime. Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety practices on the shop floor. Coordinate with maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance activities. Maintain records of production, rejection, and rework for performance analysis.

2. Vendor Development

Identify, evaluate, and develop new vendors for machining, fabrication, casting, and other outsourced processes. Negotiate cost, delivery, and quality standards with suppliers. Conduct vendor audits for quality systems, capacity, and reliability. Monitor vendor performance (OTD, quality, and cost) and maintain supplier evaluation records. Coordinate with the Purchase and Quality departments for vendor approvals and PO processing. Ensure smooth material flow between in-house and subcontract vendors.

3. Quality & Process Improvement

Work closely with the Quality team to resolve process or quality issues. Implement continuous improvement (Kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing). Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action for non-conformities. Maintain calibration and inspection records for gauges and measuring instruments.

4. Documentation & Reporting

Prepare daily production reports, vendor performance reports, and job cards. Maintain ISO / IATF documentation related to production and supplier management. Support internal and external audits.

Pay: ₹19,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
