Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and supervise all machining activities in the machine shop. Allocate work to machinists and CNC operators based on production schedules. Monitor machine performance, ensure optimal utilization, and minimize downtime. Review engineering drawings and ensure components are machined to specifications. Oversee tool management, cutting parameters, and fixture setups. Maintain shop discipline, safety compliance, and housekeeping (5S). Coordinate with planning, quality, and maintenance departments. Approve in-process inspection and ensure final quality before dispatch. Maintain records of daily production, rejection, and rework. Train and develop machine operators and technicians.

Knowledge & Skills:

Sound knowledge of machining processes (turning, milling, grinding, CNC, VMC, etc.). Understanding of materials, cutting tools, and tolerances. Familiar with

ERP systems (preferably JD Edwards or SAP)

for job scheduling, material tracking, and reporting. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T.

Qualification & Experience:

Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering. 5-10 years' experience in machining operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
