Position Summary
The Machine Shop Head is responsible for leading daily machine shop operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role oversees personnel, scheduling, machining processes, and equipment to meet production goals and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate daily machine shop activities
Assign work, manage schedules, and prioritize jobs
Lead and support machinists and CNC/VNC operators
Ensure parts meet engineering drawings and quality requirements
Oversee CNC/VNC and manual machining operations
Enforce safety procedures and shop policies
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process issues
Coordinate with engineering, quality, and production teams
Maintain equipment, tooling, and shop organization
Train, mentor, and evaluate shop personnel
Qualifications
5+ years of machining experience; supervisory experience preferred
Strong knowledge of CNC /VNC and manual machining processes
Ability to read technical drawings and GD&T
Leadership and communication skills
Education & Experience
Trade certification or technical diploma preferred
Equivalent hands-on experience considered
