The Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining pharmaceutical manufacturing machines in compliance with GMP, SOPs, and safety standards to ensure efficient production and consistent product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Operate pharmaceutical production machines such as tablet compression, capsule filling, blister packing, alu-alu packing, strip packing, liquid filling, or granulation equipment.
Set up machines as per Batch Manufacturing Record (BMR) and approved SOPs.
Monitor machine performance and make minor adjustments to ensure optimal output and quality.
Perform in-process checks (IPQC) and record observations accurately.
Clean, assemble, and disassemble machines following cleaning SOPs and line clearance procedures.
Identify and report machine breakdowns, abnormalities, or deviations to the supervisor.
Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, hygiene, and quality standards at all times.
Maintain proper documentation including logbooks, BMR, and equipment usage records.
Coordinate with maintenance and quality teams when required.
Follow EHS guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Required Skills & Qualifications
Diploma / ITI / Technical certification (Pharma, Mechanical, Electrical preferred)
1-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing
Knowledge of GMP, SOPs, and IPQC
Basic understanding of machine troubleshooting
Ability to read and follow technical instructions and batch records
Willingness to work in shifts
Preferred Skills
Experience with tablet, capsule, or packing machines
Familiarity with cGMP, WHO-GMP, or USFDA environments
Team player with good communication skills
