Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Iron Sheet Cutting Machine Operator to join our team at Hans Steels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining our sheet metal cutting machinery to produce high-quality, precisely cut steel sheets according to customer specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently to meet production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:

Operate iron sheet cutting machines (e.g., guillotine shears, plasma cutters, laser cutters) safely and efficiently.

Material Handling:

Load and unload iron sheets onto the cutting machine, ensuring proper alignment and secure placement.

Precision Cutting:

Set machine controls to cut metal sheets to the required dimensions, as per work orders and blueprints.

Quality Control:

Perform in-process inspections to ensure cut accuracy and quality. Use measuring tools, including a

micrometer

and

inch tape

, to verify dimensions of finished products. Identify and report any defects in the material or finished product.

Machine Maintenance:

Conduct routine checks and basic maintenance on the cutting machine to ensure it is in good working condition. Clean and maintain the work area to ensure a safe and organized environment. Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.

Safety & Compliance:

Adhere to all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Follow company policies and procedures related to quality and operations.
Qualifications & Skills:

Experience:

Minimum of

2 years of experience

operating iron sheet cutting or similar metal fabrication machinery.

Technical Skills:

Proven ability to operate and troubleshoot sheet cutting machines. Basic knowledge of reading and interpreting technical drawings or work orders. Proficiency in using measuring instruments like an

inch tape

and

micrometer

.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

Work Ethic:

Punctual, reliable, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Teamwork:

Ability to work effectively with other team members and follow instructions from supervisors.
