The role involves ensuring minimal downtime, planning preventive maintenance schedules, and ensuring machines comply with safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems used in the gas industry.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of production machinery and utility equipment.
Monitor machine performance, diagnose issues, and carry out corrective actions to reduce downtime.
Maintain maintenance logs, service records, and spare parts inventory.
Develop and implement maintenance schedules for CNC, lathe, milling, drilling, and other shop-floor machines.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards in all maintenance activities.
Coordinate with production and quality teams to minimize disruptions during maintenance.
Manage external service providers/vendors for specialized repair or AMC contracts.
Recommend process improvements, machine upgrades, and automation for efficiency.
Train operators and technicians on routine machine care and basic troubleshooting.
Participate in audits and ensure documentation of maintenance activities as per ISO/industry standards.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Familiarity with CNC, VMC, conventional machines, compressors, and gas filling equipment.
Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in maintenance planning and ERP systems.
Knowledge of safety standards and statutory compliance in the gas/manufacturing sector.
Good communication, team management, and reporting skills.
Qualifications
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics Engineering.
3-5 years of experience in machine maintenance, preferably in gas springs, gas filling plants, or heavy engineering manufacturing.
Knowledge of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Kaizen, or Lean practices will be an added advantage.
