: MAAS (Metal as a Service) Implementation Engineer

This role is typically within a cloud infrastructure or data center environment, focusing on automating the provisioning and management of bare metal servers using tools like Canonical's MAAS.

Responsibilities

Design and Deployment:

Design, deploy, and maintain the MAAS infrastructure for automated bare metal provisioning.

Automation:

Develop and implement automation scripts and workflows to discover, commission, and deploy physical machines on-demand.

Integration:

Integrate the MAAS platform with other data center management systems, such as OpenStack, Kubernetes, or configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Ansible).

Networking:

Configure and manage network infrastructure components like DHCP, DNS, and IP address management (IPAM) within the MAAS environment.

Troubleshooting:

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex issues related to hardware compatibility, network bootstrapping (PXE), and operating system deployment.

Documentation:

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for MAAS processes, configurations, and best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in data center operations, cloud infrastructure, or systems administration. Strong knowledge of bare metal server provisioning and automation tools (e.g., Canonical MAAS, Foreman). Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash. Experience with Linux operating systems (especially Ubuntu) and virtualization technologies. Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, PXE)
