The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all logistics operations within the organization. This role ensures efficient and cost-effective movement, storage, and distribution of goods while maintaining high service levels and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations.
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipping activities, ensuring timely delivery of materials and finished goods.
Manage inventory flow and maintain accurate stock levels.
2. Transportation & Distribution Management
Select and negotiate with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics service providers.
Monitor transportation KPIs such as delivery times, shipping costs, and route efficiency.
Resolve issues related to shipping delays, damages, or discrepancies.
3. Warehouse & Inventory Management
Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, and dispatch.
Implement best practices for inventory control, space utilization, and material handling.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and warehouse procedures.
4. Process Improvement
Analyze logistics processes and identify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
Implement automation tools and logistics technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean or other methodologies.
5. Team Management
Supervise and develop logistics and warehouse staff, including training and performance evaluations.
Coordinate work assignments and manage workload distribution.
6. Compliance & Reporting
Ensure compliance with local and international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and company policies.
Prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance, costs, and KPIs.
Maintain documentation for audits, customs clearance, and supplier transactions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
3+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management.
Strong knowledge of transportation, warehousing, and inventory management practices.
Experience with ERP/WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
Strong leadership and communication abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills
Certification in supply chain or logistics (e.g., CSCP, CLTD) is a plus.
Experience with lean management or process improvement methodologies.
Knowledge of international shipping and import/export documentation.
