A Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing the supply chain operations to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective transportation, storage, and delivery of goods. Key duties include coordinating transportation providers, monitoring shipments, managing inventory and warehouse stock, reviewing purchase orders and shipping documentation, and resolving shipment or inventory issues. They also liaise with suppliers, retailers, customers, and logistics staff to optimize processes, negotiate deals, and maintain communication across all stages of the supply chain.
Typical responsibilities are:
Coordinating and monitoring supply chain operations and shipment schedules.
Organizing inventory management, storage, and dispatch.
Reviewing and preparing shipping documents such as bills of lading.
Ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Maintaining logs and preparing reports for management.
Addressing and solving logistical problems, delays, and errors.
Managing budgets related to distribution and shipments.
Utilizing logistics IT systems to streamline operations.
Coordinating with drivers, warehouse teams, and dispatch for smooth delivery.
