Liver transplant surgeon is a highly specialized medical professional who performs complex surgical procedures to replace diseased livers with healthy donor organs. They evaluate patients' eligibility, coordinate with multidisciplinary transplant teams, and manage pre- and post-operative care. Key Responsibilities

Assess transplant candidates' medical histories, risks, and donor compatibility. Lead surgical procedures for liver removal and implantation with precision. Collaborate with hepatologists, anesthetists, and intensive-care teams seamlessly. Manage intraoperative bleeding and vascular reconstruction during transplant surgery. Monitor postoperative recovery, liver function, and patient complications carefully. Develop immunosuppression plans and adjust regimens to prevent organ rejection. Provide long-term follow-up, patient education, and preventive care. Maintain transplant registry data and contribute to quality-improvement efforts.

Skill & Experience

Proficient in complex hepatobiliary and vascular reconstructive surgical techniques. Strong decision-making under pressure in high-risk, life-critical environments. Excellent teamwork and communication with multidisciplinary transplant professionals. In-depth understanding of immunology, graft rejection, and immunosuppressive therapy. Skilled in patient evaluation, risk assessment, and perioperative planning. Commitment to research, continuous learning, and transplant program development.
