Job Title: Live Underwriter - US Mortgage (Work from Home)

Location: Remote (India-based)

Experience: Minimum 5 years in US Mortgage Underwriting Work Schedule: Full-time | Monday to Friday | US Shift Timings

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Live Underwriter specializing in US mortgage loans. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reviewing and assessing loan applications in real-time, ensuring compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines (FHA, VA, USDA, FNMA, FHLMC). This is a work-from-home opportunity, best suited for professionals with a deep understanding of mortgage credit risk and a commitment to quality and turnaround times.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and analyze loan applications, income documentation, credit reports, and appraisals to determine eligibility.
Perform real-time/live underwriting and issue decisions (Approve/Suspend/Decline) within SLA.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and investor guidelines.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of underwriting guidelines and investor overlays (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, etc.).
Communicate effectively with processors, loan officers, and other stakeholders to resolve documentation and qualification issues.
Accurately input underwriting decisions and notes in LOS (Loan Origination System).
Work closely with the quality control team to minimize errors and rework.
Maintain confidentiality and security of borrower information at all times.

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of experience in US mortgage underwriting (live/manual).
Strong knowledge of AUS systems like DU and LP.
Familiarity with FHA/VA/USDA loan guidelines preferred.
Proficient in LOS platforms such as Encompass, Calyx, or similar.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must have a stable internet connection and a private, quiet work environment.

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹1,700,000.00 per year
