summary: The Linux Admin - L3 with Cloud Expertise is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Linux-based systems in cloud environments within the organization. This position requires a deep understanding of Linux operating systems, cloud technologies, and strong troubleshooting skills. The Linux Admin - L3 with Cloud Expertise will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, security, and scalability of Linux infrastructure in the cloud. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain Linux-based systems in cloud environments, including installation, configuration, and patch management.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime and ensure optimal system functionality in the cloud.
- Implement and maintain security measures, including access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems, to protect Linux infrastructure in the cloud from unauthorized access and potential threats.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate Linux systems with cloud services, ensuring seamless operation and effective data exchange.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides, to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure consistent system administration practices in the cloud.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to Linux administration and cloud computing, and recommend improvements or enhancements to optimize system performance and efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members, assisting with complex issues and promoting their professional growth.
- Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Linux Administrator, focusing on L3 support and cloud environments.
- In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and associated technologies.
- Strong command-line skills and proficiency in shell scripting.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of networking protocols, TCP/IP, and network troubleshooting in cloud environments.
- Solid understanding of security principles and best practices in Linux and cloud environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are highly desirable.
