Key Responsibilities:1. In-Process Quality Control
Conduct regular inspection and quality checks at each molding machine during production.
Monitor part dimensions, appearance, and functional parameters as per control plan and drawing.
Identify and report any process deviations or quality issues immediately to production and QA teams.
Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
2. Documentation & Reporting
Record inspection results, rejection data, and process parameters in inspection reports.
Maintain in-process quality records, patrol inspection logs, and defect analysis sheets.
Support in preparation of daily/shift quality summary reports.
Maintain traceability of inspected parts as per quality documentation requirements.
3. Defect & Root Cause Analysis
Identify and categorize defects such as short shots, flash, sink marks, flow lines, etc.
Participate in problem-solving discussions using tools like 5 Why, Pareto, and Fishbone analysis.
Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
4. Coordination & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with production, tool room, and maintenance teams to ensure defect-free production.
Suggest improvements in process parameters or mold setup to enhance quality.
Support validation and first article inspection (FAI) during new mold trials or part development.
Promote 5S, kaizen, and lean quality practices on the shop floor.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Diploma / B.E. in Plastic Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
1-3 years of experience in quality control in an injection molding or plastic components manufacturing plant.
Knowledge of injection molding processes, mold setup, and raw material behavior (PP, ABS, PC, Nylon, etc.).
Familiar with measuring instruments (Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, profile projector, etc.).
Understanding of quality tools: 7QC Tools, 5S, CAPA, SPC, and MSA.
Ability to read technical drawings and understand tolerances.
Basic computer proficiency (MS Excel, Word, ERP systems).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in an ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 certified plant.
Knowledge of PPAP, FMEA, and control plan documentation.
Exposure to automotive component quality systems (if applicable).
