Job Purpose
The Line Incharge - QA (Inspection & Inventory Management) will be responsible for executing and monitoring quality inspection activities on the production line, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and managing inspection-related inventory. The role also focuses on accurate data analysis, MIS reporting, and supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Quality Control
Carry out in-process and final inspections as per approved QA/QC plans, SOPs, and quality standards.
Monitor product quality on the assigned production line and ensure compliance with specifications.
Identify, report, and support resolution of quality deviations, non-conformities, and defects.
Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to ensure corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Ensure calibration and proper usage of inspection instruments and gauges.
Inventory Management (QA Stores)
Manage inventory of inspection tools, gauges, samples, and QA consumables.
Ensure proper receipt, storage, issue, and traceability of quality-related materials.
Maintain stock levels, track consumption, and raise indent requests as per requirement.
Support physical verification and audits of QA inventory.
Data Analysis & MIS
Record inspection data accurately and maintain quality logs and check sheets.
Prepare and update daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports related to inspection results, rejection trends, and inventory status.
Analyze quality data to identify recurring defects, trends, and improvement opportunities.
Share reports and insights with Section Incharge - QA/QC for decision-making.
Process & Compliance
Ensure adherence to ISO standards, internal quality systems, and customer-specific requirements.
Support internal and external quality audits by providing records and inspection data.
Maintain documentation related to inspections, rejections, rework, and inventory.
Team Coordination
Guide and support inspectors and helpers deployed on the line.
Ensure discipline, safety, and quality awareness among the inspection team.
Communicate quality expectations clearly to production teams at line level.
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of
inspection techniques and quality control practices
.
Experience in
inventory management
related to QA/QC.
Proficiency in
data analysis and MIS reporting
(MS Excel, spreadsheets, dashboards).
Understanding of manufacturing processes (preferably stainless steel or metal industry).
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
Good coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Educational Qualification
Diploma in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or relevant engineering discipline.
Experience
4-7 years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control in a manufacturing environment.
Prior exposure to line inspection and QA inventory management preferred.
