Job Purpose:

The Line Incharge - E&I Maintenance for the Hot Rolling Mill is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of electrical and instrumentation systems in the Hot Rolling Mill. The role demands a hands-on approach in troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing equipment such as PLCs, AC/DC drives, motors, control panels, cranes, transformers, VCBs, and ACBs. The incumbent will lead a team of technicians and will be responsible for preventive and breakdown maintenance, safety compliance, and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise day-to-day E&I maintenance activities of Hot Rolling Mill to ensure uninterrupted production. Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of electrical breakdowns in PLCs, drives, motors, and automation systems. Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules. Monitor and maintain electrical equipment including transformers, VCBs, ACBs, control panels, and cranes. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spares, and equipment history. Ensure proper calibration and functioning of all instrumentation and control systems. Coordinate with production, mechanical, and utility teams to minimize downtime. Enforce strict adherence to electrical safety standards and company policies. Support in audits, inspections, and implementation of EHS initiatives. Train and mentor technicians on maintenance best practices and new technologies.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of industrial automation and control systems. Hands-on experience in AC/DC Drives (ABB, Siemens, etc.). Proficiency in troubleshooting and interpreting electrical drawings. Sound understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safe work practices. Team leadership, coordination, and shift management capabilities. Good analytical and communication skills.

Qualification & Experience:

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering. 5-8 years of experience in electrical & instrumentation maintenance, preferably in Hot Rolling Mill or similar heavy industrial setup.

Preferred Exposure:

Experience in maintaining equipment such as rolling stands, coilers, shears, and cranes. Familiarity with SCADA/PLC systems and industrial communication protocols. Knowledge of SAP/CMMS for maintenance management.
