Key Responsibilities

Develop lighting design concepts, layouts, and calculations in compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards. Prepare lighting drawings, technical schematics, and photometric simulations using software such as Dialux, Relux, and AutoCAD. Select appropriate lighting fixtures, lamps, and control systems (DMX, DALI, KNX, Lutron, etc.) based on performance, aesthetics, energy efficiency, and cost. Perform photometric calculations to ensure proper light levels, distribution, and uniformity in different spaces. Incorporate energy-efficient and sustainable solutions (e.g., LED, smart lighting, human-centric lighting, IoT-enabled systems). Prepare BOQs, specifications, and technical documentation. Conduct mockups or prototypes to demonstrate lighting effects and obtain client approval. Oversee on-site lighting installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting to ensure design intent is met. Stay updated with emerging technologies, codes, and industry trends (LEED, WELL, IEC, IES, etc.).

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Lighting Design, Architecture, or related field. Proven experience in architectural/commercial/industrial/stage/automotive lighting design projects. Strong knowledge of lighting principles, photometric, and control systems. Proficiency in design and visualization software Dialux, Relux, AGi32, AutoCAD. Familiarity with energy codes, sustainability standards, and certification requirements. Attention to detail and ability to balance creativity with technical accuracy.
