to own the end?to?end technical documentation for our elevator products--and to set the standards that make every installation bullet?proof. You'll leverage your deep elevator know?how to produce flawless 2D drawings, define our General Arrangement Drawing (GAD) standards for shaft installations, manage our component library, and drive continuous improvements in modularity and part interchangeability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Precision Technical Drafting & GAD Standards
Create and update 2D CAD drawings of elevator car frames, door assemblies, guide rails, traction machines, control panels, and counterweights.
Develop and maintain the GAD
--the standard "shaft fit" drawing suite that defines clearances, safety factors, pit/headroom requirements, and code compliance for every lift model.
Maintain strict version control, issuing revisions promptly to reflect design optimizations or field feedback.
2. Parts & BOM Management with Interoperability Focus
Build and maintain a comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM) for every lift series--mechanical, electrical, and architectural components.
Systematically evaluate and improve part interchangeability
: analyze existing component families for modular reuse; propose standard interfaces and tolerances that maximize commonality and reduce SKUs.
Collaborate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure part numbers, descriptions, and suppliers are correct and up?to?date.
3. Documentation, Compliance & Quality Control
Produce installation guides, assembly instructions, test?report templates, and revision logs that align with our Quality Management System (ISO?9001).
Review all deliverables for compliance with safety, seismic, fire?rating, and local elevator codes (ASME A17.1 / EN?81?20/50 or equivalents).
Lead periodic audits of technical files to ensure nothing slips through the cracks.
4. Cross?Functional Coordination
Act as the technical liaison between R&D, production, field service, and sales--translating customer site constraints into workable design changes.
Attend weekly production?engineering huddles to resolve shop?floor queries and communicate drawing updates.
Support commissioning teams with "as?built" documentation and shop drawings when field modifications are needed.
5. Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Identify and rollout new CAD standards, template libraries, and drafting best practices to boost efficiency by 10-20%.
Propose design changes that reduce part count, simplify assembly, and improve modularity--while cutting material costs without compromising ride quality.
Stay current on emerging elevator technologies (e.g., gearless traction, regenerative drives, machine?room?less systems).
What We're Looking For

Proven track record creating General Arrangement Drawings for shaft installations.
Skilled in creating and maintaining structured BOMs and ERP part?master records, with a focus on part commonality and interchangeability.
Solid understanding of elevator codes (ASME A17.1/EN?81).
Attributes
Meticulous attention to detail and a passion for precision.
Strong analytical mindset--able to spot redundancies and drive modular design improvements.
