Some of the specific responsibilities of a swimming pool lifeguard may include:
Monitoring swimmers: The primary responsibility would be to keep a watchful eye on swimmers and ensure that everyone is following safety rules and regulations.
Enforcing safety rules: Must enforce safety rules and policies to ensure the safety of all pool users. Ensure that Rescue Equipment is placed in both the side of deep end and these Equipment are in good working condition, including the inside accessories like Hand railing, ladder, tiles chipping off. Attend training sessions and stay up to date with new lifeguarding techniques and protocols.
Responding to emergencies: In the event of an accident or emergency, the candidate should respond quickly and effectively. They must be trained in CPR and first aid, and be able to use rescue equipment such as rescue tubes, backboards, and rescue masks. Report any incidents or issues to the SPA Coordinator immediately.
Conducting safety checks: Should conduct regular safety checks of the pool area and equipment, including pool chemical levels, water clarity, and other safety equipment such as ladders and pool covers.
Providing customer service: Should be friendly and approachable, and communicate effectively with pool users. Is expected for providing information about pool rules, hours of operation, and other services offered at the facility.
Maintaining a clean and safe pool area: Shall be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe pool area, including picking up trash, removing hazards, and keeping the pool deck clean and dry. Provisioning of chemical inventory stock
