Summary

A Licensed Wireman installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems in residential, commercial, and light-industrial settings. This role requires strong technical skills, a solid understanding of electrical codes, and the ability to perform work safely, efficiently, and independently. The Licensed Wireman ensures all electrical installations comply with state and national electrical regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, panels, outlets, switches, lighting systems, and related components. Perform service calls, diagnose electrical issues, and recommend appropriate repairs. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, load calculations, and electrical diagrams. Install and terminate conductors, breakers, grounding systems, and protective devices. Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance and safe operation. Upgrade electrical service equipment, including meter bases, panels, feeders, and grounding. Test electrical systems using meters, testers, and diagnostic equipment. Ensure all work meets NEC (National Electrical Code) and local/state regulatory requirements. Collaborate with supervisors, apprentices, contractors, and customers to complete projects. Maintain accurate work logs, material lists, and documentation as required. Follow company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and industry best practices at all times.

Qualifications

Current and active

Licensed Wireman

certification (state-specific). Minimum 2-4 years of electrical experience (varies by state). Strong knowledge of NEC codes and electrical installation standards. Ability to work safely with power tools, ladders, and electrical testing devices. Proficient in diagnosing electrical problems and performing independent repairs. Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various environments (attics, crawl spaces, outdoors).
