Chettinad Academy of Research and Education (CARE) invites applications for the position of

Librarian

with a strong academic and research background. The Librarian will be responsible for managing library operations, supporting teaching and research activities, and ensuring compliance with statutory and accreditation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Manage overall functioning of the central and departmental libraries Develop and maintain print and digital collections, journals, and databases Support faculty, students, and researchers with reference and research services Manage institutional repository, e-resources, and digital library platforms Ensure compliance with

library norms and standards Maintain library records, reports, and usage statistics Coordinate with academic departments for curriculum and research support Conduct library orientation and research methodology support programs Supervise library staff and ensure efficient library services Support accreditation, audits, inspections, and academic reviews

Educational Qualification

Ph.D. in Library and Information Science - Compulsory

Master's Degree in Library and Information Science (M.Lib / M.L.I.Sc.)

- Mandatory UGC NET / SET qualification preferred

Experience

3 to 8 years of experience as a Librarian in a University / Deemed University / Academic Institution Experience in handling medical or research institution libraries preferred

Skills Required

Expertise in library automation systems (KOHA / SOUL or equivalent) Strong knowledge of e-resources, research databases, and plagiarism tools Familiarity with academic research support and scholarly communication Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
