Key Responsibilities
Collection Management
: Develop, organize, and maintain the library's collection of print and electronic resources, including specialized medical literature, ophthalmology journals, databases, e-books, and other multimedia materials.
Research Assistance
: Provide expert reference and in-depth research support to healthcare professionals, DNB students, and researchers, including conducting literature searches and assisting with systematic reviews to support evidence-based practice and clinical decision-making.
Information Literacy Training
: Develop and deliver training sessions and workshops for DNB candidates and staff on effective information retrieval techniques, database usage, critical appraisal, and research methodologies.
Curriculum Support
: Collaborate with DNB faculty and clinical teams to integrate library resources into the curriculum, case presentations, seminars, and journal clubs, ensuring access to current and relevant information.
Cataloging and Organization
: Catalog and classify resources using healthcare-specific indexing systems and maintain an organized, welcoming library environment that facilitates self-service when necessary.
Digital Resource Management
: Manage and implement digital tools and platforms, including the library website and online databases, to enhance accessibility to medical information.
Outreach and Collaboration
: Promote library services and resources within the organization and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and other libraries through networks like the National Network of Libraries of Medicine.
