Job Summary

Creative Minds International School, Surajgarha, Lakhisarai (Bihar)

is seeking a

dedicated, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic Librarian

who can actively cultivate a strong reading culture and support the school's academic vision. The ideal candidate will view the library not merely as a room of books, but as a

learning hub that encourages curiosity, inquiry, and independent thinking

among students.

Key Responsibilities

Manage, organize, and develop the school library in accordance with

CBSE norms and guidelines

Plan and implement initiatives to

promote reading habits

, research skills, and information literacy Guide students in selecting age-appropriate and meaningful reading material Support teachers with reference materials and academic resources Maintain accurate records, cataloguing systems, and library inventory Demonstrate flexibility by engaging in

1-2 teaching or reading periods

, if required by the Principal Ensure the library remains a

welcoming, disciplined, and intellectually stimulating environment

Required Experience, Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with a

Diploma in Library and Information Science (DLIS)

Minimum

65% marks in DLIS

(Note: Academic qualifications alone will not suffice without relevant skills and attitude)*

Minimum age: 22 years

At least

1 year of continuous experience

in a reputed school library under the supervision of a

senior librarian (PGT level)

A

strong personal reading habit

and appreciation for literature across genres Familiarity with

modern library management practices

, including digital and reference services Creative, hardworking, self-motivated, and committed to professional excellence Good

computer proficiency

and ability to work with library software and online resources Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and school leadership

Salary & Benefits

Gross salary:

Approximately

?22,000 per month

Food and accommodation

Option to stay outside the campus with prior approval from the management In such cases, an additional

10% HRA on ?22,000
