Job Summary

Seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Librarian to manage library resources, support patrons, maintain collections, and foster a love of reading and learning within the community, ensuring efficient operations and access to information.

Key Responsibilities

Collection Management: Acquire, catalog, classify, and organize physical books, periodicals, and digital resources (e-books, databases).

Patron Services: Assist users with research, resource location, reference questions, and navigating library systems (computers, databases).

Programs & Events: Plan, promote, and lead workshops, story times, author events, and literacy initiatives.

Technology & Systems: Manage library software (ILS), digital platforms, and identify technology needs.

Environment: Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming space, enforcing policies and ensuring safety.

Administration: Handle inventory, budget input, interlibrary loans, and potentially supervise staff/volunteers.

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor's degree in Library Science (MLS/MLIS preferred).

Experience: Previous library experience, familiarity with library systems.

Technical Skills: Proficiency with computers, databases (e.g., EBSCO, JSTOR), digital literacy, information management systems.

Soft Skills: Excellent communication (written/verbal), strong organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, adaptability, customer service orientation, friendly & approachable personality.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Familiarity with specific library software

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Bhubaneswar, Orissa
