Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and organized

School Librarian

to manage our K-12 library and foster a love for reading and research among students. The ideal candidate will be passionate about books, digital learning, and promoting information literacy across all age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain the school library's physical and digital resources. Guide students and teachers in locating and using library resources effectively. Promote reading through engaging activities like book clubs, reading challenges, and author interactions. Organize and maintain library catalog systems (manual or digital). Select, procure, and manage age-appropriate and curriculum-aligned books and resources. Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate library skills with classroom instruction. Conduct orientation programs for students on library use, research, and referencing techniques. Maintain a quiet, respectful, and inclusive library environment. Oversee the issue/return of books and track overdue items. Organize periodic book fairs and reading-related events. Stay updated with trends in education technology and library sciences.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science. Prior experience as a librarian in a school setting (preferred). Strong knowledge of library management systems and digital cataloging. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Passionate about reading, literacy, and student development. Familiarity with child-friendly literature and age-appropriate resources. Ability to manage students from diverse age groups (K-12).
