We are looking for a knowledgeable, organized, and student-friendly

Librarian (TGT / PGT)

to manage and develop the school library as a dynamic learning resource center. The ideal candidate should foster a love for reading, research, and information literacy among students and support academic excellence across all grades.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day functioning of the school library. Organize, classify, and maintain library resources including books, journals, magazines, newspapers, and digital materials. Guide students in developing reading habits, research skills, referencing, and information literacy. Assist teachers and students with curriculum-based reading materials and project research. Maintain accurate records of library inventory, issue/return systems, and cataloguing (manual or digital). Promote reading culture through book clubs, reading challenges, author interactions, literary events, and library activities. Support school academic programs, assemblies, exhibitions, and literary or cultural events. Ensure discipline, proper usage, and a welcoming learning environment in the library. Stay updated with new publications, digital resources, and modern library practices. Coordinate with school administration for procurement and maintenance of library resources.

Qualifications & RequirementsEducational Qualification (Mandatory):

Master's Degree in Arts / Science / Commerce

PLUS

Degree or equivalent course in Library and Information Science

from a recognised University

OR

Master's Degree in Library & Information Science

from a recognised University.

Experience

Experience as a Librarian in a CBSE/ICSE or reputed school is preferred. Fresh candidates with strong academic background and library management skills may also apply.

Skills & Attributes

Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Good communication skills and student-friendly approach. Ability to guide students in research, referencing, and independent learning. Familiarity with digital libraries, library management software, and online resources. Passion for reading, knowledge dissemination, and academic support. Patient, approachable, and disciplined personality suitable for a school environment.

Pay: Up to ₹20,000.00 per month
