Job Summary
The Librarian is responsible for managing the library's daily operations, ensuring efficient access to books, journals, and digital resources. The role involves cataloguing, organizing, maintaining records, assisting students and staff, and supporting a productive academic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and supervise day-to-day library operations.
Organize, classify, and catalogue books, journals, and digital resources.
Maintain an updated database of library materials.
Assist students, faculty, and staff in locating and using library resources.
Ensure proper issuing, returning, and tracking of books.
Maintain discipline and a quiet atmosphere inside the library.
Monitor stock levels and recommend new books or subscriptions.
Oversee library cleanliness, arrangement, and upkeep.
Implement library rules, policies, and procedures.
Support academic activities by providing reference materials as required.
Conduct periodic auditing of library inventory.
Coordinate with vendors for procurement of new reading materials.
Qualifications
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib) or equivalent.
Prior experience in an academic or institutional library preferred.
Good knowledge of library management systems and digital databases.
Skills Required
Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in library software & computer operations.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain order.
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
Work Schedule
Full-time role; availability during academic hours and special events as needed.
Job Types: Full-time, Fresher
Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
