Job Description

POSITION PROFILE: Librarian



ROLE-

To provide an effective and efficient library, information and resource service that is up-to-date and meets the overall aims of the library.

REPORTING -

The librarian is directly responsible to the Head Administration / Principal

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Strongly support the Manager (Administration) in developing and providing specialised support to other departments and managers.

Establishing budgets for the library including expected purchases and maintenance expenses on existing equipment.

Liaise with all departments and hold relevant resources

Ordering, receiving, unpacking, cataloguing and identifying the items purchased

Monitoring, tracking and recording the use of library equipment including books, audio-visual equipment and others.

Entering all library resources on databases and other computer tracking forms

The Librarian will actively work alongside departments in planning and delivering research and studying skills.

Undertake other duties as directed by the HOD (.Corporate Services)

Ensure all company Values are understood, accepted and practiced by the team as well; and

KEY RESULT AREAS:



To organise and manage the library and its resources to meet the needs of the curriculum planners and to support the reading, learning and information requirements of the staff.

Organizing resources so that they are easy for users to find

All reports and documentation is maintained for all processes within the department.

That all inventory stocks are properly managed.

Ensuring that material resources are correctly utilized.

Appropriate access to learning resources is maintained at all times

Work is carried out effectively within a team environment

All activities are carried out quickly, flexibly, effectively and positively in response to requests made at short notice; and

KKEL makes a positive contribution to the Indian social fabric

Qualifications



Experience



Computer Skills



Graduate, Master of Library Science (MLS)

1 - 2 years experience

Proficiency in using Microsoft Word/Excel/ Tally/PowerPoint

1) Mandatory



Experience of working in a library preferably in a school or college environment.

Ability to be able to multi task

Able to work as part of the curriculum/resource support team

Good organisational skills

Computer proficiency

Have strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to be discrete and maintain high levels of confidentiality

Personal initiative and ability to work with limited guidance

Willing to take on additional tasks as required and learn new skills

Unquestioning belief and support of KKEL VALUES.

2) Highly Desirable



Graduate degree in a relevant discipline

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?20,000.00 - ?30,000.00 per month
