3. Library Services: Assist students and staff in discovering and utilizing resources that support their academic growth and community-oriented projects. Encourage information literacy as a means to effect positive change.
4. Instruction: Collaborate closely with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum, providing guidance on research projects that address real community needs.
5. Technology Integration: Manage digital resources and technology within the library, empowering students to leverage technology for community-enhancing purposes.
6. Promotion of Reading: Organize and promote reading programs, book clubs, and literary events that foster a culture of empathy, social responsibility, and community engagement among students.
7. Library Policies: Develop and enforce library policies that reflect Hillwoods' values of inclusivity, respect, and community service.
8. Collection Development: Continuously assess the library collection to ensure it aligns with the evolving needs of our community-minded student body, recommending resources that inspire action.
9. Budget Management: Efficiently manage the library budget, allocating funds for resources that support community-centric projects and learning initiatives.
10. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and local community members to identify opportunities for students to engage in community service projects.
11. Library Events: Organize and participate in library events that encourage students to use their learning and knowledge for the betterment of society, fostering a spirit of local and global citizenship.
12. Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous records of library materials, circulation, and participation in community-focused activities.
13. Professional Development: Stay abreast of library trends, educational technology, and community-based learning opportunities to enrich our students' educational experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven experience as a librarian, particularly in an educational context.
- Proficiency in library cataloging systems and digital resources.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
