The Legal Operations Manager will be overseeing arbitration operations, legal compliance, and risk management. This role focuses on execution, monitoring, and operational excellence, ensuring that arbitration processes, legal teams, and case outcomes adhere to the highest standards of law, ethics, and procedural integrity.
? Supervise day-to-day arbitration and mediation operations to ensure compliance with statutory and institutional requirements.
? Review case workflows, pleadings, awards, and procedural documentation for legal accuracy and completeness.
? Ensure adherence to JustAct's arbitration rules, timelines, and ethical standards.
Compliance & Risk Management
? Assist in implementing compliance frameworks under the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, institutional rules, and applicable regulations.
? Identify legal, procedural, and operational risks in arbitration processes and recommend corrective measures.
? Support internal audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory inspections.
Panel & Case Management Oversight
? Monitor performance and conduct of arbitrators, mediators, and case managers.
? Flag potential conflicts of interest, procedural deviations, or integrity concerns to the management.
? Support empanelment, evaluation, and periodic review of arbitration professionals.
Legal Research & Advisory
? Conduct legal research on arbitration law, ODR regulations, court precedents, and regulatory developments.
? Prepare legal opinions, internal advisories, SOPs, and policy notes as required by the management.
? Assist in drafting and updating arbitration rules, client agreements, and institutional documentation.
Client & Internal Stakeholder Support
? Act as a secondary legal point of contact for client queries, escalations, and operational clarifications.
? Coordinate with technology, operations, and business teams to align legal requirements with platform workflows.
? Support dispute escalations, challenges, and court-related follow-ups.
Training & Knowledge Management
? Assist in delivering internal training programs for case managers and legal teams.
? Support documentation of best practices, legal updates, and training materials related to arbitration and ODR.
Qualifications & Experience
? LL.B. from a recognized university (LL.M. or certification in Arbitration/ODR preferred).
? 3-5 years of experience in arbitration, dispute resolution or institutional legal roles.
? Strong working knowledge of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, arbitration procedures, and court processes.
? Experience in handling bulk NBFC/Bank arbitration cases, or legal-tech environments.
? Experience in the ODR field is an advantage.
