Job Summary:



The

Group Legal Officer

is responsible for managing and overseeing all legal affairs of the organization and its group entities. This includes providing legal guidance to management, ensuring regulatory compliance, drafting and reviewing contracts, handling litigation, and mitigating legal risks across all business operations. The role acts as a key advisor to senior leadership on legal strategy and corporate governance.

Key Responsibilities:Legal Advisory & Compliance:



Provide legal counsel and support to management and business heads on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues. Ensure the organization's operations and policies comply with applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Monitor changes in legislation and advise the management on potential impact and necessary actions. Develop and implement group-level legal policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks.

Contracts & Documentation:



Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, MOUs, NDAs, vendor contracts, lease agreements, and partnership documents. Maintain a centralized contract management system and track renewals, expirations, and compliance obligations. Ensure legal accuracy, enforceability, and risk mitigation in all contracts and documents.

Litigation & Dispute Management:



Manage and coordinate all litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters involving the group companies. Liaise with external legal counsel, monitor case progress, and ensure timely resolution of disputes. Represent the company in legal proceedings when necessary. Maintain documentation and records of all ongoing and closed cases.

Corporate Governance:



Support the company secretarial team with board meetings, resolutions, and statutory filings. Ensure compliance with corporate laws, including Companies Act and other regulatory bodies. Advise on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions.

Risk Management:



Identify potential legal risks and recommend proactive strategies to minimize exposure. Support internal audits and compliance reviews from a legal standpoint. Ensure ethical business practices and adherence to the company's code of conduct.

Qualifications & Experience:



Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB); Master's Degree (LLM) preferred. 8-15 years of experience in corporate or group legal functions (in-house experience preferred). Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, labor, and contract law. Experience managing external counsels and multi-entity legal operations. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and business acumen.
